Two weekends ago we had a family convergence on the block. How did this happen you may ask? Well, Leanne and her family had been in Westport for the week prior working and had asked if we were going to be on the block that weekend so they could come and see it. Well, we hadn't planned to, but then we don't tend to pass up an opportunity to go up to the block and it worked for us as Daryl needed to bring one of our tractor units down from Picton to Chch. Then Mum and Dad were making their way down the country from Masterton to spend a few months working in Blenheim so we arranged to meet with them too and what resulted was a busy yet fun weekend.
We converged on the block on Saturday and spent the day having a picnic lunch, checking out the house site, hooning around on the quads & feeding out baleage with the tractor, we also managed to rope in some helpers to add some more rails to the fence. The boys (big and little) really enjoyed the quads taking the scenic tour across the block to return them to the shed. Of course a big hit with the little boys was the mud around the stock water troughs and playing with the sandpit toys in the dirt on the floor of the shed while we (Daryl, Dad, Leanne and I) unloaded all 54x4.8m fence rails from the back of the tractor unit! Mum had the job of making sure all the kids stayed out of harms way which is not easy to do when you have to keep an eye on four kids at once in a relatively enclosed space.
Saturday night we all stayed at the Alpine Lodge in St Arnaud rounding off our day with a Spa and dinner. After a relaxed start & feeding the ducks @ Lake Rotoiti, Sunday was then a big travel day back to Kirwee with a couple of stops on the way, the Red Barn near Murchison to feed the animals and have lunch then Hanmer Springs in the afternoon for a swim and dinner. By the time we reached home the kids were all asleep and pretty much just fell into bed, it didn't take long for the rest of us to follow.

I will be adding more photos here, I just need to get them off Mum and Leanne who were taking most of the photos on the weekend :-)
